$11.6 Million jury verdict for failure to diagnose/treat stroke
Plaintiff, 42, went to the hospital with stroke symptoms. A CT scan showed a blocked blood vessel. The finding was not reported by the radiologist to the assistant; the radiologist labelled the scan as Normal. Three weeks later, Plaintiff had a massive stroke, resulting in permanent disability. The jury found that, had the blockage been reported, he would have been given blood thinners and the subsequent stroke would not have occurred.
