$29 Million jury verdict for failing to diagnose aneurysm because man “not of normal age” for one.

Becker’s Hospital Review May 2023

A 43 year-old man presented with pain in upper abdomen and other signs of an aneurysm. Instead of ruling out the more serious condition, doctors decided it was an infection and did not think to look for an aneurysm, because aneurysms are rare in 43 year-olds. The man died two days later, leaving behind two adult daughters.
