Honolulu Jury Verdict of $14 Million Against Big Tobacco

August 2023: A Honolulu Jury returned a combined verdict of $14 Million, compensating an 82 year-old smoker than began smoking as a teenager and developed lung cancer in 2019. The jury punished Big Tobacco for over 50 years of lies, fraud, conspiracy, and tricking consumers into thinking nicotine was not addictive, that cigarettes do not cause cancer, and that lights or filters were safer. Plaintiff was represented by The Alvarez Firm, Wayne Parsons, and Rufo Law.
