$110 Million Jury verdict for failure to transfer asthma patient with breathing issues

Asthma patient and mother of 5 taken to ER where her dioxide levels were found to be very high and her PH levels very low, strongly suggesting hypercapnia acidosis. While in hospital on ventilator and steroids, patient retained fluids and her blood pressure plummeted, resulting in brain swelling, causing seizures and a brain injury. She spent 328 days in the hospital. She should have been transferred on day 1 to a different facility to prevent the dioxide build-up.
